Guide to Paris: Eating and Exploring

I went to Paris in February for three days and had an amazing time. Although it wasn’t my first time in the City of Love, there’s just something so beautifully magical about this city- I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it’s definitely a place worth visiting whether you’re a glutton, a history buff, or a shopaholic, or all of the above! I hope this post inspires you if you’re planning a trip to this amazing city. Enjoy!Paris Continue reading

Food Cubes (Art)

This post has been making its rounds across the Internet, but I loved it so much that I had to share it here too-Dutch artists Lernert & Sander have created a minimalist art piece made up of 98 2.5cm cubes of unprocessed food, ranging from pork loin to candy stripe beet (my personal favourite). Aren’t the different colours and textures mesmerising?

Recipe: Kimchi Fried Rice with Spam

Korean cuisine has continued to grow in popularity worldwide, and kimchi in particular has been labelled as one of the world’s top food trends in the coming year. However, for those of you that have never tried it, its pungent and sharp taste might take a bit of getting used to, and so I’ve decided to share a recipe for kimchi fried rice, a lunchtime favourite of mine that you can whip up in less than 20 minutes. The mix of added ingredients such as a fried egg and spam neutralise the strong flavours of the kimchi a little bit, so it’s a great dish to introduce your taste buds to! kimchi fried rice

Review: Clos Maggiore, Covent Garden

I tend to keep my birthday celebrations relatively low-key (for the most part, I prefer small groups, great conversations and LOTS of food), but since I’m turning 21 this month I thought it would be nice to indulge in a bit of fine dining. Luckily for me, Clos Maggiore offers a surprisingly affordable pre-theatre menu in what was probably one of the most beautiful venues I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating in!

Broadway Market, Hackney

The weather in London has been quite pitiful recently, but under no circumstances should that deter gluttons from venturing out of their warm homes in search of food.  Last weekend, I decided to go to Broadway Market- a place that has been on my hypothetical ‘bucket list’ for quite some time, and my experience there can be summed up in one sentence: I will definitely be back again soon!
